Sculptra works by injecting poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA) into the deep dermis. This revolutionary product was discovered after surgeons noticed firmer, plumper skin surrounding the areas of dissolvable post-surgical stitches. This product gets fully broken down in the body so no residual material is left at the injection site. Because it is a bio-stimulator, Sculptra works with your own body to regenerate collagen, helping with structure, volume, elasticity and texture.

Collagen is a fibrous protein that is responsible for helping to support the structure of the skin. Functions of hyaluronic acid and elastin are also supported by collagen. Elastin helps skin to maintain its shape and hyaluronic acid keeps the skin hydrated. Sculptra helps to stimulate this process again.
